Silvio Berlusconi sentenced to 7 years in jail, barred from office for life

Former Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi has been found guilty of paying for sex with an underage prostitute and using his strong influence to try to cover it all up.
A Milan court on Monday, June 23, 2013 sentenced him to seven years in prison and barred him from public office for life ending his two-decade political career.
The 76-year-old has however appealed the sentence through his lawyer Niccolo Ghedini.
This is beyond reality. I’m calm because I’ve been saying for three years that this trial should never have taken place here’, Ghedini said
Both Berlusconi and the Moroccan woman at the centre of the scandal Karima el-Mahroug, better known by her nickname Ruby have denied ever having sex.
